ASSOCIATE DOCTOR
Tanya Ngo, OD
Dr. Tanya Ngo's path into optometry started long before she became a doctor. She first worked as a volunteer and then as an optometric technician — and that hands-on experience shaped her clinical instincts and the warmth she brings to every patient interaction.
Dr. Ngo was recruited by Dr. Elson to join our sister practice, Old Towne Optometry in Yorba Linda. With Dr. Broady's retirement in 2023, she joined LO•OK Optometric and quickly became a favorite of patients and staff for her thoroughness and her habit of treating every person who walks in like family.
During graduate school, Dr. Ngo wrote her senior thesis on essential fatty acid supplementation as an adjunct treatment for dry eye disease. That interest carried directly into clinical practice. She has been instrumental in developing our dry eye protocol, working in tandem with Dr. Elson to build a multi-modal treatment approach that has meaningfully changed outcomes for our chronic dry eye patients.
She has completed post-graduate training in dry eye, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and progressive myopia in children. As a student she served as president of her school's Optometry Giving Sight chapter and has volunteered on mission trips to Mexico, Panama, and China, as well as in underserved cities across Southern California
When she's not in clinic, you'll find her in a kitchen testing recipes, at the piano, attending plays and concerts, or making custom vinyl stickers with her sister. She has an ongoing collection of Chinatown bridge photos from cities all over the world.
